Massachusetts’ Senate Committee on Global Warming and Climate Change has confirmed that the people of Massachusetts want more renewable energy, a price on carbon, climate adaptation, natural gas leak repair, electric transportation, environmental justice, and an end to new fossil fuel infrastructure development in the state. These were the concerns voiced during the Committee’s ten listening sessions held in communities across the state, and comprise the main recommendations of the Committee’s “Massachusetts Clean Energy Future” report. Sen. Marc R. Pacheco (D) expects that the Committee will issue “a substantial piece of legislation” in the coming days to reflect those priorities.
